Outreach Commission

The Outreach Commission deals with ministries of pastoral care social services, peace and justice, and evangelization. Their scope includes both parish membership and the larger community in which St. John Vianney functions, neighborhood, city, county, state, federal, and international.

This Commission includes the following:

St. Vincent de Paul
Needs of sick, homebound, those with disabilities
Community Ministry
Faith In Action
Unchurched or lapsed Catholics

Our current mission statement reads:

We, the people of St. John Vianney Parish, seek to promote the Gospel through evangelization, worship and community outreach to a diverse community in the San José eastern foothills. We recognize the community to be ethnically, economically, inter-generationally and domestically mixed, and therefore resolve to strive for a broad vision of parish needs in light of the Gospel. We are committed to fulfill the above goals by working together, offering supportive presence to one another, and arriving at decision through prayer, active listening and consensus.
